Leeds PR Agency Prohibition picks up its first ever award

So I have had a lot going on recently, following my company re-brand and last night the Prohibition team ventured out into Leeds to the Pride Awards to see if we could pick up an award or two.

awardsI have been to the awards a number of times before and picked up a few but this was the first one for Prohibition and it felt quite nice. We were shortlisted for “Best Use of Digital” and “Best Use of Social Media” for the team’s launch of Student Wire which is now recognised as one of the UK’s leading student magazines.

According to the CIPR:

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise outstanding public relations in the UK regions and nations. Winning an award, or making the shortlist, puts you and your work in the spotlight.

The full results from last night are here, as you can see I am delighted to say we picked up one Gold award but the most fun was seeing all my friends from the industry. The PR world in this region really is a close nit community and although we are in competition for business on occasion many of us are good friends. I am proud to say I managed to avoid being tempted into “doing the worm”, which is what I did last time we won and Facebook has never let me forget it. Needless to say the team here have been packing themselves full of paracetamol and we have just had a team outing to McDonalds to compensate for the alcohol we consumed last night. My account manager keeps shaking her head at what she said to the video team, so I can’t wait to see what they have kept in.

I am so proud of the team and our network of student writers. I also need to say a very special thank you to the brilliant magazine editors, who worked with us here both Emilie and Hannah have been fantastic. Without their hard work, enthusiasm and effort we wouldn’t have picked this award up, so I am obviously inviting them both to our Christmas party next month to get their money’s worth out of us.

I now need to go to bed and get some sleep.
